Fluorosis

What is Fluorosis?

This is a condition that is caused by too much exposure to Fluoride. Normally, fluoride is a healthy compound that helps support strong and healthy teeth. Typically you’ll find it in a safe drinking water system. It’s also found in a safe ADA-approved toothpaste. In addition to strong teeth, fluoride also has the ability to fight cavities and other problems.

The difficulty begins when fluoride-containing toothpastes or rinses are swallowed, when they should be immediately expelled.

The greatest drawback to fluorosis concerns changes in your general appearance. There are many aesthetic issues with this problem. You might experience abnormally darkened or stained teeth. While most of these problems are harmless to your overall health, they can cause embarrassment and discomfort.
